Alder, Alnus glutinosa ‘Laciniata’ (Tree no.169). Main playing fields

Of interest: nice catkins (slim cylindrical drooping flower clusters) appear will appear mid February.  Bark scars formed a few years after a branch was removed are of interest to the team.  We are also drawn to investigating the oblong lenticles (breathing holes).
